Yamaha to Showcase Hydrogen Fuel System at Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show

The world’s first hydrogen-powered prototype outboard will make its New Zealand debut at the Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show next month. Earlier in 2024, Yamaha unveiled the world’s first hydrogen-powered outboard for recreational boats along with a prototype fuel system integrated into a vessel that the company plans to further refine for testing later this year. EV Maritime selected to electrify popular ferry service in San Francisco Bay

Auckland, New Zealand – EV Maritime, New Zealand’s leading electric ferry design and technology company, announced today it has been commissioned by Angel Island Tiburon Ferry (AITF) to design an all-new hybrid electric vessel for the fleet. The 2024 NZ Millennium Cup has crowned a winner

The final day of racing on Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf saw the fleet competing in light air on a course which gave them 23nm for one last push to reign supreme. The yachts took off from Motutapu, to the Noises, then D’Urville Rock, Rakino, the Haystack, and home again, though over the substantial length of the course they weren’t able to shake clear of each other. Sunday belongs to Sassafras – NZ Millennium Cup Day 2

She’s got it; Sassafras takes the win! At the morning’s briefing, principal race officer Harold Bennett told owners, captains and crew he was sending them on two of the Cup’s longest courses. 
“With 15 to 18 knots of wind forecast, our race committee is sending you out into the Hauraki Gulf. The Multihull Division is bound for Gannet Rock and a drag race, while our NZ Millennium Cup division is taking on the longest course they’ll tackle over the regatta.”
